MADAGASCAR’S POLITICAL RECONCILATION ON TRACK
After a 5-year of political crisis with a serious impact to the local economy and social life of the Malagasy people, the political leaders of Madagascar have come to an agreement for reconciliation.
As the old saying, the example comes from top above, the four former presidents and the actual president of Madagascar have been sitting around the table for the first time in the history of Madagascar last December. That has given a real breathe and hope for the population.
The ousted president Marc Ravalomanana could finally come back home in November after a 5-year exile in South Africa. He was banned to come back home but he was the missing element the puzzle and made this meeting happened with the good wills of the actual president H.E Hery Rajaonarimampianina.
On January 9th, the President in office held the annual meeting and greetings to the institutions and to the diplomats at presidential palace of Iavoloha . The former Presidents were all invited. Hugs and kisses were at the rendez-vous.
The next meeting for the continuation of the reconciliation process will take place on 13th January 2009. Such achievement is quite rare for most of African countries but it has happened for Madagascar.
